It was almost twelve and she couldn’t sleep. She knew what was going on in the room next to her and tried to ignore the noise coming from there. She covered her face with a pillow and tried to sleep. Everything around her was silent but somehow she felt it was too noisy, the thoughts in her head were keeping her awake. Her mind was filled with dreams of new cubicles, more employees, and contractors were taking to each other at the construction site and somehow Akshar was giving them instructions and explaining to them with a blue print what needs to be done and he looked very handsome. He was the only well dressed person in the building in a white full arm and a black pant and all the others were in khaki and were covered with dirt and grease.
Suddenly she heard a noise like a bell ringing continuously and struggled to ignore that sound, and in the end gave up and opened her eyes and the rays from the sun were peeping through the window into her room and her alarm indicated it was five thirty in the morning. She switched off the alarm and pushed her pillow back and sat up. She didn’t really know when she had fallen asleep. Her dream so real it took her a couple of minutes to get back to reality. She was not sure why she had dreamt about Akshar in her dream; she was surprised and puzzled considering the circumstances and got out of her bed to get ready for the day.
To her surprise her brother was already up and was making breakfast. He saw her and asked her to join him and Kathy who was already setting the plates on the table. Looking at the expression on her face, Kathy smiled and said “jetlag” and that explained why they were up so early. But that still did not explain her bother cooking! He had made scrambled eggs, French toast and something else, which she was quiet reluctant to try. He asked her how her headache was and from her smile understood she was doing fine and continued talking and had briefly summarized how he had met Kathy, learned to cook and their future plans were.
