Chapter 187

After a long and hard process, she was in need of more paper and a cup of coffee to trigger her thought process. The search process through her memory lane seemed to be never ending and it lasted for a few hours until she could gruel her mind no more and everything was jotted in the paper in front of her. Finally when she was done, she had more questions than answers.

Whenever she had a fuzzy memory, just before that she had been nervous and had chewed a gum, or something that was given to her by someone there. She didn’t know why she had been nervous in those occasions compared to others, there wasn’t anything big or special about these nor there any idols or big shots for her to be intimidated. She couldn’t answer that question and wondered if she should take Morris’s advice, but she felt too humiliated to do so.

After going through all these for a few times over her head, she made a startling discovery. Every time she had experienced one such event, Morris had been with her. Whenever she had felt nervous, he was with her and had insisted that she eat something. To calm her down, he had suggested if anyone out there on the set could help her feel better. Now everything was starting to make sense and her eyes had no more tears to shed, but her face reflected her pain.

Chapter 186

She felt humiliated, distressed and violated. It took her a full whole week to catch up with reality, since all these feelings of frustration were clouding her thoughts. She realized she has to know what had happened and how it had happened. She knew each one of the guys she had dated and knew what was going on, and she knew what she was doing, so it can’t be one of them; she knew that for a fact.

Even the dates she accepted as a favor, she never let anything get this far, she knew what was happening and it was all mostly a social event or were in public places and she always came home with a sound mind, so the only possibility that she could really think of was the fuzzy memories she has been encountering, especially when the doctor said that nothing was wrong with her, and it was not a symptom related to her infection.

She picked up a piece of paper and started to write down all the incidents that had happened in the past month, as much as she could remember. Amazingly, she remembered a lot, more than she had expected, but she could not remember what had happened in couple of occasions during her photo shoot. She still wrote everything down and went thought it a couple of times.

Chapter 185

He was a petite man with a heavy Spanish accent; very friendly and professional and seemed quiet satisfied with his job. She knew it was a group practice, but didn’t know who will be attending to her that day. She remembered the nurse saying Dr.Solan will be right with you.

He went about saying that she doesn’t have worry about her dizziness and or occasional fuzziness and all the tests seemed fine. He continued asking her that based on the other symptoms she had told the nurse, he would like to recheck her since he suspected Chlamydia, which is a sexually transmitted disease and continued asking her more questions.

She was in total shock and her expressions were quiet transparent; he prescribed her with some antibiotics and told her that it looks like she must have recently got in contact and it was in a very early stage bacterial infection which is curable, in her case just by antibiotics and also advised her all about it and asked her that he would like to see her after ten days, to make sure everything is fine. He stepped out leaving her to get dressed, closing the door behind him. Tears rolled down her delicate, gentle cheeks as is they were pitying her and assuring her that they are there for her.

Chapter 184

She was alarmed, and decided to talk to Morris in the morning about it, maybe he can help sort things out. She woke up quiet late the next day and rushed through usual routines and when she when she was about to leave she received a call from the doctors office asking her if she could come in the very same day.

She took an appointment later for that day and she was quiet worried why she had to come in. She hoped it was because of her fuzziness and occasional dizziness that she had encountered and hoped it wouldn’t interfere with her modeling career that she was aspiring for. She received another check and the sum was much bigger than it was last time and she was happy and this time there were no magazines that came with it.

It was a long wait and she had brushed through at least half a dozen magazines before she was called in. The usual procedures, checking weight, the purpose of the visit, blood pressure, when your last period was, any allergies etc, and after another fifteen minutes wait the doctor finally came in.

Chapter 183

She didn’t know how to react to his comment. He smiled at her and went about his business, she stood there astound, and that brought over her a great distress; she wondered how and where he had seen her naked, she knew that was not possible, she was so confused, she almost bumped into a car and the screaming honk brought her back to her senses.

She had unanswered questions, she knew she was very careful about her dates, and she had complete privacy in her house, and in modeling she had posed in swim suit and a towel wrapped around her, other than that, no one even asked her to pose nude for any of the pictures, so she was quiet surprised by his comment.

She couldn’t get it off of her mind and kept thinking what was going on, and after a long process in her mind, she came up with two of the possibilities. One her fuzzy memory, maybe she posed for some pictures, agreed to it without realizing or there might have been a camera in one of the dressing rooms.

Chapter 182

Everything went fine and this continued on for a few months, but one thing that puzzled her was some of the events, her memory was very fuzzy and she could hardly remember any of them. She also felt quiet tired after that and was not quiet sure where she was or where she had been. Other than that everything was doing quiet fine.

Based on her memory factors, she decided to go see her doctor and find out if anything was wrong with her, she really didn’t wanted to get sick when she was just stepping up in her dream ladder. She wanted to be the world’s top model; she was not ready to give up on her dream.

The doctor ran some tests and asked a bunch of questions and everything seemed fine and she was waiting on the results and asked her to come back after a couple of weeks and she took an appointment and went to work. It was almost midnight and she was done with her shift and was ready to leave. She was shocked by the comment one of the customer gave her, she didn’t understand what he meant, or how could he have seen a naked picture of her. He meant it as a compliment when he said “You look ecstatic without your cloths on.”

Chapter 181

“To Carissa Landri”, she loved reading it; she kept the magazine and the cover in her room as a souvenir and bought a nice lunch for her brother and Morris. She did a couple more and after that nothing was really happening, as if she had reached the end of it and she was not ready to let go.

Morris gave her a card and told her maybe she might get a shot at it, and she immediately went to see the agent. He seemed nice and was instantly attracted to her and volunteered to work with her. She knew he was attracted to her physically and how much ever she was trying to ignore that and avoid private meetings with him, it seemed quiet impossible since he had connections with big names in the field.

When he actually arranged for a photo shoot somewhere in the outskirts and volunteered to pick her up, she didn’t trust him, so decided to go with Morris, just in case. It was amazing, the greenery, and the mountains, and it felt as if she was on a picnic. She didn’t really recognize any big shots out there, but saw a few strong muscular male models and gorgeous female models out there.

Chapter 180

She vaguely remembered the photo shoot and felt grateful to the lady there who helped her calm her nervousness down; she remembered how badly she was shivering and how nervous she had been. She prayed that she had done well and that she would get more opportunities and left for work as usual. She felt a little unease since everything was a bit fussy and her usually sharp memory wasn’t really helping her.

Couple of days had passed and she received a mail addressed to her and she wondered what it was. She had received a fat check and a magazine enclosed in it and with a post it that referred to page twenty seven. She hurried through the magazine and turned to page twenty seven and she couldn’t believe her eyes.

There wee two pictures covering half the page, one with her hands on her nose and the other holding a flower and smiling. She was delighted to see herself in a magazine, that was a fresh start, it didn’t matter that it was just a half page advertisement, just her face was covered and she didn’t really care that it was an nasal allergy medication advertisement.

Chapter 179

She was extremely happy when she was invited for an interview; she dressed up quiet neatly and was there on time. Morris accompanied her for moral support since she was quiet nervous and she was quiet nervous and her hands were almost shaking.

They asked her to change into a couple of different costumes and with slight makeup pose for some shots. She was so nervous, she could neither smile not pose and the photographer was getting quiet irritated. They tried after a few minute break and things weren’t getting any better.

One of the employees took her aside and gave her something, which looked like a candy but tasted awful and she almost threw up, but after ten minutes she started to feel a lot better. She posed for a lot pictures and she was quiet reluctant for some costume, but someone helped her with something and could hardly remember what had happened when she got home and went to bed.

Chapter 178

When she got home, all she could think about was his words, their conversation was very motivating, inspiring and sensational which triggered something in her. A dream, an ambition was born, which she wanted to pursue, but had no idea how to go about it, since everything needed money.

After a long thought, she decided to talk to Morris about it, whom she had started to call dad, she couldn’t bring herself to call him “Papa”, that was what she used to call her dad and he loved it and she loved it too. She was quiet affectionate about Morris, since he was the only one who was there for her in her life.

He was very supportive and told her that he will talk to some friends of his regarding that. In the mean time she knew to become a model, she needs to get some nice pictures done and an album ready and she decided to do two jobs to get the money.

Chapter 177

She didn’t really know what that was all about and didn’t really care. They grew closer and they were all there for each other especially when her mother died. She took his advice and finished her school but money seemed to be an issue to get into college, since he had started drinking after her mother’s death and her brother became her responsibility.

He introduced her to many interesting men and encouraged her to even date older men when they were shot for money and she obliged to his requests since she desperately longed for his affection, and he was very persuasive and she was very naive. The dates were mostly simple and decent and mostly ended with a kiss and she was fine with that.

Things changed when she went on a much older man with reluctance to his mansion for dinner. She had actually enjoyed his company and his intellect and especially the fact when he told her his story about how he became who he is today which was quiet inspiring.

Chapter 176

After a couple of days she was shocked by the banging on her bedroom door and she was surprised to see Morris standing there. He had never even knocked on her door before, but today he didn’t look happy and she had no idea what was going on and her mom had the same puzzled look, so did her half-brother who was standing besides her mother.

He almost grabbed her hand and pulled her out of her room and asked her about the date and he wanted to know every single detail that had happened. She told him everything and decided to skip the part where she gave a peck on his cheek and their special handshake, since she felt it was irrelevant.

He asked her if there was anything that appended there that she didn’t like and all sorts of weird questions most of them she didn’t really understand, but in the end he smiled and gave her a hug, and kissed her on her forehead and said I am proud of you. She was elated, she controlled her tears of joy and hugged him back, and she had wanted to do that for a really long time.

Chapter 175

Everything changed when he asked her for a favor, if she could go out on a date with his boss’s son, she said yes in a heartbeat. She knew this would be the first break; maybe she can win his affection. She knew the boy she was going to go out with, he was short, wore thick glasses and spent most of his time reading books or by himself.

She always that’s what rich kids does, read to become richer and they don’t really have a life. She didn’t care all about it; all she cared was to score a point with Morris. To her surprise she had a great time, they watched a movie, ate ice cream, played mini-golf and had a fabulous meal and unlimited ice cream which they threw on each others face.

She realized that he was a lonely kid and he needed a friend and his father was the one who had arranged this date to help him get out and score with girls. She gave a peck on his cheek and thanked him for a nice time and they created a special kind of hands-shake and promised each other that they will be good friends.

Chapter 174

Lot had happened in the next two years, her grandmother died, her mom had to quit her job to take care of her half-brother and she was blossoming into a lovely teenager. She had gotten her height and strength from her father and feminine features from her mother was quiet attractive.

It was both exciting and confusing to be a teenager, especially when wanted to be friends with her. Her mom gave her some advice on how to deal with boys and now, she had to get a job if she wanted to wear something pretty for a date. It wasn’t too bad but money became a bit tight when her mom got sick.

Even though she didn’t want to call him dad and continued to call him Morris, she longed for his affection, and when her mom was sick went out of her way to help him and she didn’t really notice much of a change in him which just made her sad.
