Chapter 229

She couldn't find him anywhere. She looked at the entrance since Mathew mentioned that he should be here. A few folks entered through the door, someone with a boy in his arms, a young couple and a couple of heavy set guys. Right behind them was Sara, this time talking to someone next to her and not on the phone. Since Sara was there, she excused herself and walked towards the table. If she hadn't seen him with Sara she wouldn't have recognized him after all these years. It was John, holding their son talking to Sara. He looked very different, still handsome, but unbelievably changed. He was not the well fit, handsome guy with great hair anymore. He was partially bald, with hair just near his ears and his back leaving a smooth shining bald head, chubby cheeks which made his face look more round. He looked at least thirty pounds heavier than she saw him last time with a bulging midsection. If it were a women one could guess her to be five months pregnant!

She couldn't hide her shock and her eyes clearly expressed them. She was speechless for more than a minute. The little kid was the one who broke the silence by asking if she were his mom's friend. He looked more like his mom but quiet attached to his dad. She smiled and they all took a seat and Sara introduced their son as Connor. He was so restless and in matter of minutes he was moving around trying to find something to play with. One he heard the music going on he wanted to go check it out and Sara volunteered to take him giving some time for John and her to catch up on things. She really didn't know where to start. Even thought Sara had told her how they met and got married she was still surprised to see the two of them together and never less how much he looked different. She was quiet happy to meet both of them, she had not expected and it was a surprise for her.

They spoke about their school days and laughed about all the detentions and how much fun they had. After a little while Sara and Connor joined them as he was starting to feel hungry. The evening had turned out to be wonderful compared to what she had thought it would be. But they had to leave a little while after that since Connor had some food allergies and they wanted to head back home. She got up and walked towards the band and stood at the back and a group just finished playing and they announced the next groups name. They all walked up the stage and she saw Mathew's cousin and looked around searching for Akshar.

Chapter 228

He looked familiar, she smiled but reluctantly since she could remember neither his name nor where she has seen him before. As if he could read her mind, he introduced himself and reminded her that she had stopped by at his house when she had car trouble. She instantly remembered, Mathew, Akshar's friend and his wonderful hospitality. She turned towards him and greeted him and enquired how he was doing. He answered that he was doing fine and asked her if she was waiting for someone and welcomed her to join him. He told her that his nephew was one of the participants in the event today and that’s why he was there. He pointed out to the young kid sitting at the right of the stage dressed in baggy cloths, colored highlights with a paper in his hand and who looked tense. He was probably seventeen or eighteen and seemed quiet shy and tense by the look of it.

Mathew said, "Ya, he is very tense. It is a group performance and he is the lead singer of their troop. Late last night their drummer got food poisoning and was admitted to the hospital and in the last minute they couldn't find a drummer. I think the lead guitarist can manage couple of the songs, but in order to win they definitely need a drummer." Diya was surprised; she never encountered any of these issues growing up. She was not into music anyway, she never attended any either, proffered to stay away from it. But now she felt that there could be such pressures in such an environment. Mathew asked her id she would like to meet his nephew and she nodded since it would seem impolite to refuse. He added, "Luckily there were no age restrictions in the troop and after a few conditions Akshar agreed to be their drummer but they never had a chance to practice."

She immediately looked at his nephew and his surroundings for Akshar. He was not there, he was nowhere. Mathew looked at his watch and remarked, “He was supposed to be here half an hour ago. Well! Why am I even surprised, he never shows up on time”. She tried to defend Akshar, by suggesting that he might be stuck in traffic. She wasn’t sure why she said that, she hardly knew that guy, just a couple of encounters and somehow she was impressed by him.

Chapter 227

She called her on her way and they discussed where exactly they would meet. Sara had to step out of the bar since there was too much noise as some event was taking place in teh back ground. The drive was not bad and she was able to get there in a fairly decent time. They hugged each other and took a nice table and far away from the crowd so that they can chat without disturbance and catch up on so many things in their life. Sara gave out a scream of excitement looking at Diya's ring. She was extremely happy for her and both didn't get a chance to order anything and the waitress stepped away looking at their excitement deciding to give them a few more minutes. After a few minutes Diya ordered a Cosmopolitan and Sara ordered a Martini and continued their talks for quiet a while. It was quiet obvious that both had a lot to talk about. Sara told Diya about her first marriage and how it fell apart and how she met her current husband and how thing have been wonderful between them and how long they have been married. Even though she told Diya about John, it didn't really occur to Diya whom she was talking about. Sara decided to keep the suspense going until Diya probed further.

Diya told her about her career and what she is doing and how she started the business and all those things and about Pryag and his family and about Pryag's illness and how he recovered from it. Sara seemed very happy to hear that he was doing fine and enquired when she can meet her new family. They both exchanged conversations about having a get together so both can meet each others. Sara gave a hint about John by saying "You already know who he is", when Diya asked about him and her son. Diya was surprised and when Sara gave more clues, she was completely speechless and totally surprised and her expression was totally unbelievable. Just then Sara's phone rang and it was her son and he wanted to talk to her. She could hardly hear him so she decided to step out for a couple of minutes leaving Diya to enjoy her drink. It took more than a couple of minutes for Sara, so Diya decided to take a look at the event that was going on, it looked as if some youngsters were singing over there. She walked over there with her drink and stood a little far from the crowd. She turned around to check if Sara was back but she wasn't and Diya was still in shock, excited to hear about Sara and John, something she had not expected, it never even occurred to her. She wanted to see John. She pictured him all those years ago, she didn't know how he looked now. Just then someone said "Hello". She turned around with a puzzled look.
