Chapter 329

Diya woke up when she heard a noise. She walked out of her room trying to find out what was happening. She heard the noise in the next bathroom, realizing that it was probably Akshar in there and went back to her room to brush her teeth and wash her face. By the time she stepped out after brushing her teeth and freshen her by washing her face and slightly combing her hair and making a pony she was surprised to see Akshar all dressed up and ready to leave. He already had his shirt and pants on and was gliding his belt on to the appropriate slots on the pant. He looked up and noticed that she was surprised to see him all set he said, “Good Morning. Did I wake you up?” She nodded and said, “No. Leaving? How about breakfast?” He looked at his watch and said, “It is almost ten. And I completely forgot that I promised to baby sit my niece today for my sister today. She just called me asking where I was. I was supposed to take my niece to the Bronx Zoo today. I asked my sister to get me a new pair of cloths to change. I already took a shower and if I leave now, I think I will be able to make it there by elevinish.” Diya said, “Oh!” There was a tint of disappointment in her voice that he sensed. He walked over to her and kissed her on her cheek and said, “I am sorry to leave so soon. But I had a great time yesterday. Maybe we can do something next week. Dinner maybe?” She stood there without saying anything. He took the socks from his shoes and folded his pants a little to make it easier to wear. He looked up and said, “How about you pick the date time and place. Tell me what you want to do and I will be there and I promise I shall keep the whole weekend free for you. Will that make it up to you?”

She smiled and said, “That is really sweet. But my brother and his fiancĂ©e are arriving this Sunday. So mostly I might be spending time with them. He will be out of jet lag by then and I think we have a lot of catching up to do.” He was done with his socks and said, “Fair enough. I would like to meet him sometime. I would love to get to know you better and your family. There is a lot we don’t know about each other. You have met my sister; my only close family here. As my parents are no more, her mom, my aunt is quiet old and lives in New Jersey. I know that your parents are no more too. I would like to meet anyone whom you hold in high regard and anyone whom are close enough to be your family. But first I would love to meet your brother.” He kissed her again on her cheek and gave her a hug. She said, “Yes. He would like to meet you too. That is true that we need to get to know each other more. I would like that, especially since you never answered my questioned last night” and smiled. He wore his shoes and said with a question mark in his forehead, “What would that be?” and walked over to the bathroom to wash his hands. She waited for the noise from the faucet to subside and said, “Remember I asked you yesterday. How many girls you have dated so far? They keep springing up where ever we go, so I would definitely like to know something about your past as a caution.” He pulled her over and held her close and said, “I like you. I like you very much. You mean a lot to me. Yes, I have dated so many, and until today I have remained friends with most of them. I even wish most of them on their birthdays. To tell you the truth I don’t how many girls I have dated. I never kept count.” Diya blushed and he kissed her on her lips and said “Bye. I have to go.” He stepped out and pressed the button on the elevator and before it sprang up and came back looked at Diya, who was standing inside the house with a half open door and said, “I would like to take this relationship to the next level.” The elevator door opened and he rushed in and disappeared with it. Diya stood there wondering what it meant.
