The past three weeks had been tiring, both mentally and physically. After a long thought process Diya had finally made up her mind in which direction she should go on with her life. Akshar had respected her and given her the time to make up her mind and had kept his contact with her to minimal and mainly through the phone. He had not tried to interfere in her decision. In the meantime Pryag had been friendly and had not made any advancement and was honoring their earlier discussions that had happened when they started talking again. With her brother and Kathy planning their wedding and staying with her she was forced to think about some things which she had never though about before. Kathy had somehow sensed that something was going on with her and had given her the space to work things out. She was really starting to like Kathy for the first time. There was something Kathy had said that had helped Diya to make a decision and be content with it. Diya realized that Kathy was very smart and sensible at the same time. The thing that bothered her often was that she had answers to most questions and everyone liked her, the instant they met her. But slowly Diya was letting go of such a feeling and was starting to look at the warmth Kathy brought to others in her presence. She even thought that she was more of a combination of Akshar and Pryag in certain ways and wondered what she would have done if they were both the same person. Once she had made the decision Diya thought of calling them both. But she realized that Akshar knew about Pryag, but Pryag had been in the dark about her relationship with Akshar. That didn't seem right. So she decided that it would be best if she speaks with him alone in person and fill him in about her relationship with Akshar and tell him about her decision. Somehow she felt that he will be okay with it as she knew how much he loved her. She wondered how Akshar would react if his and Pryag's roles were reversed. As if she read her mind, Kathy walked by and asked, "What would you do if you were in the other person’s shoes?"
Diya was shocked by her question. Then she realized that Kathy was talking to her brother who followed her into the room. Diya restrained herself from expressing her shock on her face and from falling off of the chair she was sitting on. Smiled and went back to her room excusing herself. The two were still discussing something that she had no interest in. Diya got onto her bed and sat there thinking cuddling a pillow. She thought about what Kathy said. If she was the one competing with another woman and is in love with a guy how would she feel. She thought about how she would feel if she were in Pryag's shoes and had been in the dark. She realized how much it would hurt. Irrespective of what ever the decision she makes the knowing will definitely hurt him. Or the non-knowing part would. She couldn't decide. She even thought for a minute not to discuss about Akshar with Pryag. But that didn't make any sense not she felt that was fair to him. As they have been more of friends lately she thought it may not be that bad. She decided that she must tell him about Akshar and be honest and forthright with Pryag. She put herself in the shoes of Akshar. The passion and chemistry was the key between the two. If she were in his position and if she were not the one chosen but the one let down, it would be sad and upsetting. She believed that it would not be heart breaking. But she visualized Akshar in front of her eyes, she said, "Oh! No. It would definitely break my heart if I were in his shoes." She buried her head on he pillow for a few minutes. She slowed lifted her head and pushed her hair back and said to herself, "Definitely one of them will be hurt and I can't help that. I should not drag this any longer that I already have. I can't ignore how I feel. I should end this ASAP". She leaned forward and picked up the phone. She was very clear and dialed. After about five rings it went to the answering machine. Diya left a message, "Hey! It's me Diya. Please call me back. It is important."
